Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:
"Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits."
THE BIG HOUSE is Caerleon's new multi-artist project that celebrates the freedoms bestowed upon all humans being by the Universal Delclaration of Human Rights which celebrates it's 61's anniversary on December 10th..
THE BIG HOUSE, slang for prison, is just that -- A bleak gray institution surrounded by an oversized barbed wire fence and four guard towers that keep watch on 24 prison cells in which artists from around the world have created art installations that take on the 30 articles from the Universal Declaration of Human rights.
Incorporating various artistic styles and interpretations, including streaming video, the "imprisoned" artists demonstrate how our creative impulses, imaginations and spirit can liberate us from all prisons -- whether they be physical, political, social, economical or even virtual.

ABOUT THE CAERLEON SIMS AND VIRTUAL ART INITIATIVE
The Caerleon sims are part of the Virtual Art Intiative. The original Caerleon Isle sim was founded in Second Life by Georg Janick in Feb 2008 and has since grown to four sims in Second Life : Caerleon Isle, New Caerleon, Caerleon Art Collective2 and Caerleon Erato and four new sims on Reaction Grid. The Caerleon sims are home to 31+ artist residents and educators and feature a wide range of art exhibitions, collaborative projects, art classes, lectures and workshops. The fourth in the series of BluBoys Sandbox Art Group Event
Today 12 - 4pm SLT we will hold our BluBoys event. We invite you to participate!

The BluBoys Sandbox Art Group was founded in October 2009 by the 2ndLife artists Binary Quandry and Xineohp Guisse. The purpose of the group is to arrange random and spontaneous art events in sandboxes around Second Life.

:: About This Event ::
This is a very special event as music and art comes together in the form of DJs and artists!!!
For this particular event we rent land in order to let dj's and artist work together. The challenge for the dj's and artists is to let them inspire each other based on a theme. We offer approximately 100 prims per artist.
The event will last for four hours. With a new theme announced every hour. Djs and artists will produce work base on the theme.

The first theme (starting at 12pm SLT) is "Memories".
Subsequent themes will be announced on the hour to keep the element of surprise and creativity.

Here's a little of what you can expect:
12 - 1 pm: Snubnose Genopeak. Experimental music in SL
1 - 2 pm: Noxluna Nightfire. Rock, classic rock, hard rock, more rock and maybe some c/w, perhaps some 80's.
2 - 3 pm: Zap Hax. Play in the rain and don't get wet. Walk through the desert and don't even sweat. Play in the snow and don't get cold. I'm just a cool young brother who looks kinda old
3 - 4 pm: Deejay Rae. Eclectic mix of dance/pop/rock/trance/house....i also play fun songs, classical, 80's, 90's and motown. I love performing for people and entertaining them with sound. This is my gift for everyone to hear.

Detenuti High Tech
Martedì 01 dicembre 2009 il gruppo Informatici Senza Frontiere presenterà nella nostra Isola Imparafacile il progetto “Detenuti High Tech”, realizzato presso il Carcere di Santa Bona a Treviso, attraverso le parole di chi ha lavorato al suo sviluppo e una speciale documentazione fotografica.
Inizieremo alle ore 22.00 con i racconti di Giorgio De Nardi, Maurizio Bovo e Igor De Polo, che hanno realizzato il laboratorio informatico all'interno del carcere e ora ne seguono gli sviluppi.
Dopo la presentazione ci sposteremo nel nostro giardino per ammirare le fotografie realizzate da Matteo De Mayda all'interno del laboratorio informatico e del carcere di Santa Bona.
Durante la mostra fotografica avremo anche il piacere di ascoltare Helenita Arriaga (aka Elena Tamborrino) che ci leggerà alcuni brani letterari dedicati al tema della vita carceraria.
Ancora una volta assieme ad Informatici Senza Frontiere vogliamo regalarvi una serata speciale, un’occasione per fondere insieme solidarietà, cultura ed occasioni di riflessione.
